Resolutions seem to evaporate in the first week or so of any New Year. I long ago gave up on resolutions of the usual type. You know - keep fit, lose weight, be nice to everyone, etc. So this year I'm doing something a little different. It may not be noticeable in the physical sense, but it could help to change me as a person.
I'm taking a few words from the Bible. There was an occasion when a group of Greeks visiting Jerusalem approached a follower of Jesus and said, 'We would see Jesus.' So, I'm adopting this as a slogan if you like, 'I want to see Jesus.' This means, basically, that wherever I go, and whatever I do, I look to see God at work in the things around me, in the people I meet, and in life situations. Now, what leads me to do that? Quite simply, Jesus Christ promised His followers that He would always be with them. Walk with me, this coming year, and see where Jesus leads us!
Part of seeing Jesus is in exploring the Bible together. So, my next couple of posts will look at my 'Simple Creed' which is captured in just seven words, 'God is Love, and Jesus is Lord.' Think about those words, and find how life-changing they can be.
[You can find the story of the Greeks in John's Gospel ch 12 from v 20 onwards]
